Random, I know.
I feel so behind this year! Usually we have it up over T-day weekend but this year we decided to wait a week.

I know that most of you don't have older children, but we just busted out the 'Elf on the Shelf' for the first time this year. Have you heard of it?? Charlie named him Stuart/Stewart and he calls him Stewie. I'm trying to devise a plan/location for Stewie right now. muhahhaaa. It's really working, too. He knows that Stewie is watching! Creepy and awesome. I feel like this is the 1st year (at 3) that he finally gets this whole Christmas thing. (and I mean, all of it)
It's a lot of fun!
Re: Do you have your tree up yet? And other random holiday goodness!
There is nothing Christmasy in my house at all right now. This year we aren't putting up a tree or decorating. It was my choice. We are going to be away for 2 weeks over Christmas visiting our parents so I didn't think it would be worth it this year. Plus everything is in boxes since we just moved here and are going to be moving again in the summer. I am going to miss setting up the tree, I love going through all the ornaments year after year.
I'm going to take DS to go get his picture taken with Santa on Tuesday.
I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet.
I should probably get on that.
Elf on a Shelf is cute idea. I might start that when DS is a bit older.
Baby #2 on the way!

I've been too focused on my outside light war with my neighbor to do anything else yet.
Tomorrow we're dong pictures with Santa and then cutting down our tree so I hope to start decorating tomorrow night.
I usually aim for the first weekend in December and everything comes down New Year's day providing I'm not hung over. If it was up to me, I'd pack everything back up the day after Christmas. Looking at it all after Christmas is over is just depressing to me.

We have had our tree up for weeks now
We love decorating for Christmas and we have garland decor on almost every mantel, stairway banister, and window! We have Christmas music playing in the house many days. I love the Christmas spirit!
I love the 'Elf on a Shelf' idea, Lisa. I'm looking forward to the day when DD will be able to understand and appreciate it.
My tree is up.
My shopping is completed and wrapped. I am one of "those" people. I was done in October/early November.
I will probably start my Christmas baking this weekend
SHUT UP! Did Jack name him?? I'll die if he did
And I like your improvising!
Wow! Nice!! I wish I was that on top of it.
I was pretty proud of myself for having the cards all ready to go out. I just finally mailed them yesterday, but it's been done for weeks
The Elf on the Shelf scares me. I know my husband would use it to do creepy things. I'm picturing him dangling from his legs in the shower, showing up on my dashboard, his face in the video monitor when I turn it on, etc.
Our tree is up! We put it up a few days ago and decorated it yesterday.
I LOVE this!! I also find the elf a tiny bit creepy - i think the concept is really cool, but I feel like I would feel like he was always staring at me. I'm a wack job, I know.
I've put up the stockings, wrapped some mini lights around the banister, and we put our lights up outside. So we've got a couple things going.
But tomorrow we get to to teach B how to hunt down the perfect tree, cut it down and bring it home! I seriously can't WAIT! Plus, I've had a sh*t week, and this should make it all better.
Nope, I did :-(
Our house is half a$$ed decorated right now, we just need to get our tree. I am hoping to talk DH into getting one tonight after the Christmas Parade tonight!
We are doing the elf on the shelf for the first time this year and Drew is LOVING him. We ended up getting a different elf though since Drew was terrified of the traditional one, but I think our elf is pretty darn cute. He doesn't have a name yet.
I am loving Christmas this year because Drew is loving everything about it. It is really fun!
Oh, all good ideas!!
My girlfriend has had hers doing yoga, this morning she was golfing (you can buy skirts for them!!)
I have another friend that put a pile of flour on the counter, and the elf was doing a snow angel. I think I'll save that one for later on. I don't need a white elf just yet!
The first snow we get, you bet I'll be bringing it inside for the elf to be sledding or something wild. (Mullenem, if you're reading we didn't get a single bit of snow the other night! So weird.) We have not had any legitimate snow. And it's December 2. Crazy.
Heather, I totally agree about Christmas being super fun this year. 3 years old is the magic age!
We are going to a parade tomorrow and then we are meeting Santa on Sunday. He is so excited!
