F/U to missing Mirena strings.

Well, it is still in there but not exactly in place.  It is sort of crooked because of my c-sec scars.  So it isn't as effective as it should be, it is effective hormonally but not as much physically because of the position.  I have several options, leave it and use backup, or have a tubal or Essure.  Or we could remove it and try a new one but chances are it would move as well.  The advantage of leaving it in would be continuing to not get AF.

Further complicating the decision is your health insurance.  We were going to switch to consumer driven health care for next year since we use so little of our insurance.  But with Tyler's surgery and if I should have a tubal or Essure it would bring just those 2 expenses up to about $8,000.  We have until Friday to decide on the insurance plus put away the funds for our flex plan.

  • Well it's a relief that they found it, but that sucks about the effectiveness.  I had never heard of Essure before, seems interesting.  What surgery is Ty having?  I don't remember hearing about that either, I must have tuned out for a while!  I guess it's good that you get a couple of days to decide about the insurance, but the deadline still sucks.

  • Tyler has a mild strabismus in both eyes, he will be having surgery in the spring to correct it.

I actually just talked with DH, he doesn't want any permanent BC for another 5-10yrs.  After B was born, I was happy to do something that could be reversed.  But now that 2.5 yrs have passed, I think I know I am done.  I mean, I would be excited about an ooopps because 3 kids was always an option for me but I am so happy with the 2 I have.  So I dunno what I am going to do for BC.  I don't want to go back on the pill, or condoms.  Maybe just chance it while I am still not having a cycle, then I wouldn't have to worry about the insurance end.
