VBAC

Books

I'm sure this has been asked a lot, but I couldn't find it. Has anyone read any good VBAC books? I am finding books that are really old, and wondering if they are out of date. I love the success stories I read on here, so I'm not really looking for that. I just want something that will help me prevent a c-section.

I am also looking for a good book for my husband. We can't afford a doula, but he is a medical resident, so he at least has a grasp on that side of it. With our son, he was not great at encouraging me to push. Things weren't going well and I think the worry took over.

TIA!!!

Re: Books

  • I really like The VBAC Companion and Ina May's Guide to Childbirth.  I just ordered Birthing From Within from my library--the author had a VBAC, but I don't know anything else about the book other than my midwife recommended it.  I'm making my husband read Ina May's book because I felt it to be very encouraging for a natural birth and wanted him to be able to relate to the info I had.

  • Thanks for the info! I went out this weekend, but couldn't find those. I ended up getting my husband a husband coached birth. I think I might read it too. looks like it might have some good info.
