How to get rid of bed bugs?

We just discovered bed bug bites on Rosie, and we found 2 bed bugs in her bed frame. I suspect we brought them home from our trip last week, after staying at a cheap motel on the road. I am very bummed about this, as I've heard they are terribly difficult to get rid of.

My internet searches come up with a lot of information. Does anyone have any tried and true methods that are safe?

A friend of mine had that happen to her. She tried a few home remedies but ended up calling a pest control company to take care of them.

The only way to really get rid of them (from people I know who had them in the past) was thru a pest company. You are going to want to also watch all of her clothes (and possibly everyone's) in really hot water and store them in a sealed way (big tupperware bin/seal-able sacks) until they are gone too. They can spread fast.

Oh - and you might want to inspect their car seats and your car too if you were traveling on the road...

I would get a pest control company in pretty quickly and wash everything that can be washed in hot water.

Thanks, y'all. We're definitely gonna call in the big guys. Let this be a lesson that the $30 we saved at America's Creepiest Inn is not the wisest investment.

I moved into a house that had bed bugs (ew)

My co-worker has the right now. The pest company they are working with recommended washing in hot water and bagging up all clothes/linens. Also they are using diatamacious earth. She got it at lowes and they just sprinkle it around, it kills the bugs when they walk through it. Last thing she told me is that you are supposed to keep sleeping in the same place. If you move around they follow you and spread. Hope they are gone fast!
