The worst part was everyone was flaming this post, and she kept coming back for more. I mean, come on, girl! Get a brain! The thought was good, but really should have kept it to herself. We are a much more intelligent group here.

The sad part about this? Some people really do think like this. I lost a job a few years ago...you know how a friend sympathized with me? "I totally know how you feel, I lost my bonus this year." I should stress that she is now a 'former' friend.

Yeah, can't understand why she'd keep coming back for more. And she's due for a huge reality check. I will gladly give thoughts and prayers to someone who's unwell, out of work, our going through a trying time, but not getting a bonus??
I hear you BrandySun...I have a bunch of former friends too that take the cake. Same situation as yours, and include "I only spent $700 per child this Christmas, they'll have to make do will less" (giant wtf from me). And terminating friendships with some of our couple friends who were pi$$ed that we stopped coming to our Wednesday wing night meet up because ds was in the ICU (when he was 18m), and they were mad that we couldn't spare them a few hours. Sorry, my kid on the respirator struggling to live trumps wing night, dumbasses.
I feel sorry that some people lack perspective. Especially after it's been pointed out to them.
I don't even know them, and I sincerely hope that this man fights and beats the odds, he sounds like a great man. No family should have to go through this.

This thread is worthy of T&P - my heart is crushed for this family:

Gee this poor person... no bonus...
Sadly I know two people (my coworkers) who are being laid off this week. I'm not but my situation isn't great. Oy vey.
I hope the people on that board are right and that it was MUD.

With that post count, I'm hoping it's MUD. Love that one of the responses references National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
