    Name: Carolee

Meaning behind your SN: It's my name.  Apparently I lack creativity (and internet smarts)

    Age: 30

    DH/SO's Age: 29

Time married (or together if not married): 7.5 years married, together for 11.5 years

    Any kids?: None living :(

Tell us about your furbabies: 2 cats and a dog...all rescues

    Time TTC: 29 cycles

Time spent on TTCAL: 13 months on TTCAL, and I think almost 6 months here

Current plan of attack (for TTC): IVF.  Egg retrieval is scheduled for Tuesday!!!

The short version of your story: It took 13 cycles and clomid to get pregnant with our son, Eliott.  He passed away at 37 weeks for unknown reasons when his heart stopped.  He was born on 8-13-10.  We started TTC again in November 2010, and started clomid right away with the OB.  OB referred us to an RE in February, when we found out DH has severe MFI (only 1-2 percent normal sperm).  RE said our best shot was IVF with ICSI, but we decided to try IUIs first since the insurance covered those and not IVF.  We had success on our 3rd IUI, but it was a chemical pregnancy.  We also had a surprise natural BFP the cycle after our loss, but it too ended in a chemical pregnancy.  We tried one more IUI in October, which failed.  So then we made the decision to move on to IVF.  I'm in the middle of my cycle now.

(Feel free to add a question if you like)

Mom to Eliott Alexander, born sleeping at 37 weeks on 8/13/10. Most of us only dream of angels - I held one in my arms.

The short version of your story- DH and I started TTC Aug 2009 and found out we were KU in Sep 2009. Oct 2009 I was rushed to the ER and had emergency surgery because of an ectopic pregnancy and internal bleeding in my abdomen and spent a week in the hospital.  TTCAL Jan 2010..KU in 3/10 which resulted in a CP. Got KU again on Valentines day 2011 and discovered missed miscarriage at 12wks 4 days (DH's birthday) and had D&C 2 days later.  Found out the baby was a little girl and we named her Hope.  IVF #1 Aug 2011 and BFP Sept 2011 but discovered ectopic and treated with 2 rounds of Methotrexate.  (Sorry I tried to keep it short!)

Time TTC-  Since our wedding night!

Time spent on TTCAL-  I believe I intro'd in mid-to-late January this year

Current plan of attack (for TTC)-   Not sure yet.  I've not been restricted to TTA, but DH and I agree it may be best to wait until after I get RPL done sometime this month.  My post-op appointment with my RE is Wednesday and we will discuss RPL at this time.

The short version of your story-   I'm a talker, so nothing for me is ever short Wink.  Basically, I've had three early losses (have not made it past 6w3d), went through testing (low morph, short LPs) to find that we're 'ok'.  I use that term loosely because I still feel my 9 day (unmedicated) LPs are an issue.

  • I left our our story:  Found our during my first pregnancy I had an abnormal uterus and fibroids.  Then with blood work with NT scan found out our baby had very high percentage of having Down Syndrome and/or Spina Bifida.  When we went in for an amnio to find out for sure, we found our baby no longer had heart beat, October 2009.

Went through many tests to find out for sure if I had a bicornuate or septate uterus.  Had septate uterus and had corrective surgery, June 2010

Got pregnant again a couple months after surgery, but my Betas never really doubled and the pregnancy was deemed non-viable...had D&C November 2010.

Been trying since cleared from D&C...a year.  Had HSG, which showed blocked tubes.  Then had laparoscopic surgery a few weeks ago to find out for sure what was going on.  Lots of scar tissue and unable to unblock tubes.....IVF here we come!!!

Meaning behind your SN: none, I just picked it as my log-in for the knot.  I never went on message boards then though and didn't realize it would be my name for that when I started posting on tb.  I was too lazy to change it in the beginning and then I got so many posts i didn't want to - lol.

    Age:  38

    DH/SO's Age:  41

Time married (or together if not married): A little over 2 1/2 years

Any kids?  4 angel babies and I have a DD from a previous relationship a loooong time ago, she just turned 21 years old.

Tell us about your furbabies:  When DH and I met he had 2 cats and a dog and I had 2 cats - so we had 5 animals when we got together.  His one cat passed away unexpectadly a year ago today (poor little Nala) - she had kidney failure.  So we have DH's 20 year old black cat Kramer - he walks around the house carrying a cloth belt that is his lovey and he talks to it.  I have my 2 cats - big, orange tabby Milo and a little black cat with white on her chest and face named Pumpkin.  Then of course, there is Cody the super awesome chihuahua in my siggy.

Time TTC:  29 months.  Ugh - that sounds like a long time.

Time spent on TTCAL:  I started on TTCAL after my 2nd loss in April 2010.  I think I started posting in May or JuneThen I began moving over here October 2010, then I had my 3rd pregnancy and loss and really came over here after that.

Current plan of attack (for TTC):  We have doen 4 IUI's (2 last fall and 2 this fall) and 2 IVF's in between.  I am not feeling real confident about the current one and we will most likely do another.  My RE had me do unmedicated ones to not stress my ovaries, but I am going to ask about doing an injects + IUI cycle.  They also said they would give me a discounted IVF cycle, so I need to find out how much of a discount they are willing to give me and then we'll go from there.

The short version of your story:  We started TTC on our honeymoon, 2 1/2 months after our wedding.  After 6 months b/c of ages we started with a RE.  Amazingly, or so we thought, we got pregnant that 7th month.  I had a c/p and then had testing with the RE.  Everything came back okay and we got pregnant on our own that next month.  I made it to just under 8 weeks and at the 2nd u/s there was no heart beat.  I had a d&c and had the baby tested, it was Trisomy 16 and the baby was a little girl.

I think the RE thought it would just be a matter of time again, but it wasn't. We tried a clomid cycle, I didn't respond.  We did 2 unmedicated IUI's and that's when she realized that DH had MFI - his SA's before were from another lab at a hospital.  Anyway, we got lucky on the 2nd one, but it was another c/p.  We had the repeated loss panel and discovered I had one copy of factor v leiden, and then went to a hemotologist and found another clotting issue, but neither of them necessarily caused my two c/p's.

We did an IVF and it went badly - only 5 eggs retrieved and onyl 1 fertilized normally (even with ICSI).  Transferred that embryo - turned out to be grade A, but it didn't take.  Did another IVF and got 6 eggs, all fertilized and we transferred 3 grade A embies.  Got lucky again, but it was another c/p.  That's where things stand today.

The short version of your story We have unexplained infertility, had issues finding a dr to do some testing at first because we lived in Vegas when we first started trying and they were having a big health care issues with malpractice lawsuits and ob's weren't really taking new patients. I kept getting told to relax and I was young. Took a few years after we moved back to NY to find a dr who ran some tests and sent us to an RE. Did 3 IUI's that were unsuccessful, first IVF didn't work, second IVF resulted in our twins that we lost at 19 weeks due to an incompetent cervix and infection. Third IVF was an early loss. We did get pg on our own this year, but it was ectopic and I had emergency surgery. I didn't even know I was pg till I was in the hospital, also found out after a short time my tube rubtured and my dr said if it took longer for them to discover it or me to go to the hospital I could've died. After I lost my twins I switched dr's and so much happier that I switched.

Tell us about your fur babies: Oh! You shouldn't have asked because I loooove them all so much. First we have Bijou, our 9 yo cranky, jealous, pit mix who cannot stand for the other dogs to get any attention from HER humans. Then we have Marshall, our 9 yo regular ol' fat orange tabby . But he is such a sweetie! Then comes Simon, my 2 yo purebred Snowshoe cat ( yes, I'm usually all for rescues for I figure if I have this many pets I'm aloud one or two purebreds!). He is the coolest cat! Then came Colston, our 1yo chocolate lab who truly is my baby even though he's a daddy's boy. That boy helped me through my 2nd loss. I have a very special bond with him! Then we have Liam, a stray kitten I found at school. My cousin took him initially but he's a very social little guy and we are taking him back because he's miserable being alone in her apartment all day. And last we have 6 mo Tucker, a tiny terrier mix who I also found abandoned at my school. We are currently looking for him a forever home!

Meaning behind your SN: Its just my email. My nickname and part of my maiden name with my birthday. No really special meaning

    Age: 30

    DH/SO's Age: 28

Time married (or together if not married): 1 1/2 years

Any kids? No take home babies yet, 3 angel babies

Tell us about your furbabies: We own Slinky Sue, the wonder wiener. She is one of the sweetest and most likeable dogs you could ever meet. Slinks has been my best fur-friend for 9 years.  She had to approve of DH before I could marry him. Smile

    Time TTC: 1 year+

Time spent on TTCAL: 8 months

Current plan of attack (for TTC): We're looking into IVF and PGD, meeting with specialist next week.

The short version of your story: We have 3 angel babies. M/c in January, June, and November. Did a lot of testing and finally a chromosomal screen which showed a balanced translocation. This has likely been the cause of all my m/c. Genetic specialist gave us a 40% chance of every having a successful pregnancy on our own. And part of that meant the chance of passing on the translocation. Since I wouldn't wish this m/c heartbreak on my child and DH also has a genetic disorder of the eyes that has a possibility of passing,  we're most likely trying IVF and PGD.

    Sorry, what is PGD?

Tell us about your furbabies  We lost our cat Toby 4 moths ago.Sad We currently have a Black Lab named Bella who is 16 months old.

Time TTC We started "really" trying March 2010

Time spent on TTCAL 9 months

Current plan of attack (for TTC) Praying right now! DH has 0%morph. Hoping for a Christmas miracle..then trying to meet with IF doctor and go from there.

The short version of your story Started "trying" to conceive March '10. Had a CP over the summer that I never told anyone about..didnt know what it was.  Got my BFP Nov. 28th 2010. Spotted  a lot through PG.  Doc and her office blew me off.  Told by u/s tech I had a short cervix on March 28th 2011 and saw NO DOCTOR. Went into labor March 29th 2011 around 3:30am.  Delivered Aidan at 11:32am.  DH watched him gasping for air while Doctor walked away and nurses did nothing. He flew to heaven at 12:56pm.  My heart shattered.

    Any kids?: 2 Angel Babies

Tell us about your furbabies: 2 of the cutest fluffiest furball kitties you have ever seen.  They are 2 year old brothers that we got from a friend and are beyond spoiled because we love them to pieces!

Time TTC: technically trying since June (we were not using any protection for 2 years and decided in June to really give it a go)

Time spent on TTCAL: Since June

Current plan of attack (for TTC): We are TTA due to the methotrexate and likelihood of ectopic.  My hcg is officially at 2 as of Saturday and I go to see an RE on 12/19 to discuss IVF.

The short version of your story: DH was always unsure about when he would be ready to have kids.  In November I was "late" and we tested and got a BFN...I was very upset and that made him realize how important it was.  In May I was "late" again, tested and got a BFN.  What I thought was AF showed up a couple of days later and that month we decided to really try so I broke out the OPK's.  To my suprise I got 7 days of positives and then a BFP.  Turns out I was pg from May...deciding to try may have saved my life as the baby kept growing in my tube and would have ruptured since I had no idea I was pg....I could have bled to death.  I had emergency surgery where my baby and tube were removed.  September I got pg again and it was another ectopic.  This time it was early and I was treated with Methotrexate in October.  I thought for sure the first was a fluke...guess I was wrong...very wrong :(

    3 ectopic pregnancies (EDD's 1/30/12-tube removed, 6/2/12-methotrexate and 10/2/12-methotrexate)
IVF and Natural FET resulted in BFN's and a hole in our wallets
Natural BFP #4 on 9/7/12 gave us our miracle on 5/18/13
