July 2012 Moms

Does anyone else feel like everyone must know?

Only six weeks and obviously not showing, but my husband and I have this paranoid feeling that EVERYONE knows!  I am wondering if we are giving off weird vibes and people really do know, or if we are just crazy and paranoid.  My husband's mom said something like, "hopefully I will be a grandma in 2012" we were like how does she know!!! I can't wait to tell our families on Christmas it's killing us.

  • I feel like people at work might have an idea... or when I do tell them they will be like "oh of course, makes total sense!"  I have just been very tired, not feeling well, and snacking a lot... maybe they don't notice.  I don't know.

  • I feel like everyone at my office must know because I am tired all the time and eating a little different.

  • My work friends have to know.  I am also always tired.  I am not drinking my cup of coffee every morning that was a staple in my hand and have turned down happy hour twice.  I am never one to turn down a happy hour.

  • See I thought everyone must know, especially my mom who sees me almost everyday, including the day I got our BFP! We ended up telling her after the ER visit and she was so so so surprised, still is! I think we're all just paranoid haha.
  • My brother's MIL saw DH and I at the doctor's office.  She, of course, went right home and told my brother and SIL...

  • Yeah, but only because I am soooo not subtle at work when I'm taking a break with TB. Everyone else (family and most friends) already know, mostly because I wouldn't be able to hide it from them for very long anyway. A couple work friends know too, but I haven't made any kind of announcement or anything, mostly because I work with about 50 people and for most of them, I don't really care if they ever find out. Obviously they will, but I'm not going to make a special point to tell them because there's really no need. I don't care for attention like that from people I don't work closely or hang out with. However, I work at an open desk with about five people who walk past me on a regular basis and can easily see my computer screen. I try to minimize it when I hear them coming, but I'm pretty sure several have caught a glimpse. Plus, I'm obviously exhausted and super nauseous all day and it's hard to hide the crackers I'm constantly choking down.

  • Oh, and! I think it wasn't even about a week after I found out, I was talking to one lady who was saying that her daughter and daughter-in-law were both having boys and that we needed some girls around here. She finished with, "but I'm sure you'll have a boy," and it caught me way off guard. What? Do you know? Surely not! I think I covered pretty smoothly, but holy crap.

  • I have an extra-weird challenge, in that before my current profession, I worked at a winery for 6 years.  EVERYONE knows i love wine, and EVERYWHERE i go, people want to pull out their favourite bottle of whatever and share it with me.  As soon as I politely decline, the gig is up :)
