This was mentioned on a below post but just seeing where everyone else stands.

  • Hudson is #95.  Our goal was to stay out of the top 100 when we picked it, but I guess you can't control what happens after that.  =)  Neither our names we have picked out for this LO are on there...yet.

I could both of the girls names being on the list and I could see them not on the list.

OP-Two of my BFF's sister's had little girls this year and named them Nora. So surprised because I don't feel I hear it that much.

  • Jordan (We chose a unisex name for our first). We're team green. It's #70 on the boys list but #75 on the girls list.
"What are you having?" "Well the radiologist says its a healthy little human baby. I'm a little disappointed, because I really wanted a puppy." LOL
  • Manuel did not make the list

  • Nope, and last time I checked the SS website, it was in the high 300s so I don't think I'll see it on a top 100 list.

DS's name is on there in the 30 range. (I looked at it yesterday but don't remember the actual number now).

Lol I did too! I love looking at all the names from the different generations and see how they have changed in popularity!

  • Nope. Theodore isn't on the list. Looks like the SS website has it listed as #263 in 2010.
  • If we go with the names I *think* we're going with, they are not on this list.

  • All of our kids are in the top 50...at least when they were born. We don't really care about popularity. It's hard enough to agree on something. I am pleased that they are going down the list instead of up. We haven't fully decided on the name for this baby but I have a hunch it will be the one we have been discussing that is in the top 10 and I am perfectly okay with that. It's a name I have loved for over a decade. Our son is Ethan and that was #3 when we he was born. He goes by Ethan "first letter of last name" in preschool because there is another Ethan in his class. Not a big deal. Our dd is Allison, which is not as popular but you still see it enough and I like the fact that they are recognizable and easily spelled.

  • Olivia is #4 and Ava is #5. I don't really care about popularity. If I like a name I'm going to use it.

Rachel, mama to Ava (6), Olivia (4), Nora (2), and baby#4 on the way.

  • Zoe didn't make the list but on the SSA website she is #31 for 2010.

  • Yep, our baby's name will be Ava.  I could care less that it is so popular, I think the name is absolutely beautiful. :)
  • Ours is def not in the top 100, but it is certainly not "unique" or made up... just a bit more old fashioned.

  • Caleb is #11 but I don't really care, I've had the name picked out for years and we're likely going to spell is Kaleb. I am a little surprised to see it so high though, I didn't think it was that popular.

The names we have for a girl are Riley (19), Molly (58) or Harper (60). I'd rather stay away from super popular names, but if its a name that I really love then I will still go with it.

My name is Amanda, which I like, and it wasn't the end of the world having 2 or 3 other Amandas in my class growing up.

  • I was actually dissapointed when I found out ours was on the list, we had picked ours out without looking in any name books or anything and we thought we were being original cause we couldnt think of anyone with our sons name and we just absolutely love it, and were bummed finding out that Logan was on the list.
  • Elijah is #17 but my SO has always had that name picked out to name his first son. If it was a girl we would have used the name that I've always had in mind - Autumn, which isn't on the top 100.

We were this close to picking Hayden for our little girl name. But we settled on Peyton, which is 22. I don't really care about how popular it is as long as we like it.

  • I'm surprised the shortened version of our little man's name is #57!

  • it looks like ours is number 15 for the girls.  had our lo been a boy, he would have ranked 26
  • dd2's name is Keira, which is #52 on the list. dd1 (Cambria) and this baby (Bonnie) are not on the list.

  • Mine is and it went up in popularity this year, which does bum me out.  I grew up a Jennifer and hated how popular it was.  Our baby's name is Layla (#23).  It was the only name we could agree on besides Sasha, which we kind of ruined by naming our dog Sasha.  Sometimes I still just want to go ahead and use it for our baby.

My other favorites are not on there for a girl...Blake, Noelle, and Vivian.

Our boy name is not on there...Cruz.

  • #10. But I don't care. I grew up a Katie in the 80s and going by Katie Last Initial isn't the end of the world. DH and I have loved the name for 5+ years, so it will stick!
