after 70 hours of labor, but only 3 minutes of pushing, comes Ryder Ethan at 35 w 4d weighing 4lb 14oz and 18in long. Pics to come.

    haa no typo. I was bedrest with cerclage from 20 weeks due to incomp. cervix. Lil man spend most of the 15 weeks trying to escape. Last thursday, around 5 pm, i started have reg contractions at 5-7 minutes apart. Off to hospital we went! I was in such pain and they refused to give me anything because of his gestational age. Finally, on Friday night/ Saturday Morning, they gave me a shot of morphine. Helped me to sleep, but still woke up every few miutes to breath through the contractions. The way the dr's were seeing it was they didnt want to speed up labor cause every day counts, but they also didn't want to stop it since he made it further than they all thought! Contractions increased to every 3 -4 minutes by Saturday and at 3pm they took out the cerclage. I was immediately dialated to 2, 70 % effaced and -1. Still, no Epidural (not by my choice!!) and I had had about enough, after going onto day three, and only a shot of morphine to help, they decided to give me an epi at 3am Sat night/Sunday morning. I finally slept!! I woke up at 8:30 am to the check with the Dr who told me I was 5 cm dialated. She proceeded to break my water. By twelve forty five, I was read to go. By the time the Dr got there, It was 1:12. Three pushes later and out he came!! Ryder was 4 lbs. 14 oz and 18 in. long. He was breathing on his own and perfectly healthy at 35 weeks / 4 days. He will be able to come home with us in a few days!!
