Puffy/hard above incision

I had a c section 5 days ago. The incision itself is healing nicely, but there is this puffy/firm area right above it (where it's numb). Is this normal? I am in Germany and the doctors here didn't give much info, other than my stitches will dissolve in about 10 days.

Re: Puffy/hard above incision

  • Puffiness is probably just inflammation and will go away.  Hardness is scar tissue and it will not go away.

  • sounds like me after the c/s. Dr said the hardness was fluid... it went away. I would keep an eye on it, if it gets worse call the Dr

  • It's not true that hardness won't go away.  Most scars are hard at first and as they heal they get softer and the hardness goes away.
