I have to go to a baby shower today (VENT) *UPDATE*

It's for my DH's cousin and I DONT wanna go. The only reason I agreed was because my SIL said she would be to hung over to go and I felt bad that my MIL would be going alone. Now I'm sitting here trying to think of every possible excuse to get out of it (cramps, cold, migraine, etc) This was just a bad idea, especially with AF showing up yesterday and starting stims last night my emotions are all over the place. My MIL isn't very sensitive or emotional either so I really don't know what I'm gonna do if I start crying or getting upset. It's just an awkward and uncomfortable situation and I don't wanna go!

BFP# 3 on 02/14/2011 EDD 10/28/11 Missed M/C discovered 4/19/11 and D&C 4/21/11 On 5/6/11 we found out our Oct Angel was a beautiful little girl 
IVF#1=BFP#4 on 8/31/11 EDD 5/12/12 EP discovered and MTX shot given 9/14/ & 9/21 M/C on 10/9/11
IVF#2 and Stims started 12/2 ER 12/16 ET 12/21 transferred two beautiful blastocysts. Please stick LO's! BFP 12/26

I feel your pain. I went to one last year for DH's cousin that was at the worst time - right in between our 2 EDD's and I was a disaster!! I freaked out in the parking lot and almost didn't go in. I did though and once I was there it wasn't quite as bad as I feared. I just sat at a table that was facing away from the mother-to-be and didn't really look at her much. I left as soon as the gifts were done.
I can totally see wanting to get out of it and you shouldn't feel like you have to go, but I know it's hard once you've committed. If you end up going I hope it goes okay. ((hugs))

The shower did not go well at all. When I was KU with our 3rd angel baby, our little girl hope, around 11wks my mom and I just for fun went around Babies R Us looking at stuff. I always wanted to do our nursery a class Winnie the Pooh theme. I know its not super original but I've always loved it and I found a ton of stuff at Babies R Us that was perfect.
The shower today was for a little girl and the whole thing was Winnie the Pooh themed. The mom to be got several of the items I wanted for our little girl and it literally broke my heart. I felt like she was opening gifts meant for me. Then I was surrounded by women exchanging baby stories and advice and constantly heard "O well you'll understand one day when you finally have kids". Plus several people asked how long DH and I have been married and I'd say "almost 3yrs" and their response was "Three years and no kids yet?...What do you guys not want to have a family?" Really? As soon as I was alone in my car I balled my eyes out and then cried again once I got home. Today was a rough day and I'm glad its almost over.
Thank you ladies for all your advice and support! I don't know what I would do without you!

I'm so sorry you had a horrible experience. I hope your next baby shower is your own.
I finally got sick of stupid comments like that and started telling them exactly why we don't have any babies. I'll say someone like, "well, we've been trying for over two years and have lost 2 babies." Shuts them up pretty quickly. They usually feel like crap, but maybe it will make them think twice about asking that question to another poor girl again.

2nd pregnancy: BFP- 10/18/10 - Slow rising, non-doubling HCGs, no heart beat. Non-viable pregnancy, D&C- 11/12/10
Started Metformin 6/30/11, Started Clomid 7/20/11 - Unsuccessful
