How many weeks till you can hear the heart beat on the outside?

I just got my heart doppler today. Im 11wks & 2days and I can't find the heart beat. Im not stressing about it cause I know it may be to early and ill just keep checking back. If you have a heart doppler at what week did you find a beat?

My doctor could not find one at my 12w appt. at 16w it was easily heard. It varies from person to person but I would say some time between 12-16 weeks.

It varies. The average is between 12-16 wks.

With DS I heard it at 9 wks with the doppler. This time? 12 wks 3 days...but it's soooo hit and miss even now.

It totally varies. With DD I was able to find it myself at 9 weeks, 5 days, but this one has been trickier. My OB was able to find the HB at my 10 week appt.

With DD, we were able to hear it at the dr.'s office at 10 weeks.

I've been able to find the heartbeat since 9 weeks. It takes a few mintues but worth the patience when you hear the fast "chuga chuga".

some people have problems ever hearing it using those...but good luck!

I found it at 9 wks but it took me forever and I would lose it very easily. I can find it very easily now at almost 12 wks, it takes like 10 secs to find it. I think it depends on alot of things such as weight and how your uterus is tilted.
