I'm guessing the answer is no. . . but thought I would ask. I know carseats have an expiration date.
My SIL gave me two pack n' plays. She must have gotten them as hand-me-downs for her as well becuase they are manufactured in 2006 (Her youngest was born in 2008-- her next child was born in 1998).
Both are need some major cleaning and neither came w/ an instruction manual, so I went and printed it off the company's website. They are both evenflo "baby-go" pack n' plays.
I like getting hand-me-down (saves lots of $$), but obviously want everything to be clean and safe. So, what do you ladies know?
Re: Pack N' Play. . . do they "expire"? or other baby gear for that matter?
I have never seen a expiration date on pack n plays, but you do want to make sure they havent been recalled, etc.
I use my nephews and he was born in 07. His is a chicco though.
The only expiration dates I have ever seen are for carseats...and not using cribs from before a certain year.
No to PnP's expiring. We have ds' - it stays at grandma's house. It's 15 years old, no rips, no tears, no broken parts and very clean. Amazingly, it has also not had any recalls on it either. I'm okay with using some older baby gear as long as they are in great shape, have no recalls and meet current standards. Not much has changed with PnP's in 15 years.
Here's a good place to check if you are unsure.
ETA: Car seats expire. This may be a Canadian site, but it's compiled from the manufacturer, and the expiry is the same in the US - I've checked. The only update from this is the new Diono seats are good for 10 years.
This exactly is the only thing I would be concerned about.
