Newborn Diapers... Pampers VS. Huggies

DD1 always leaked in Huggies newborn diapers, and we never had issues with Pampers. Now that DD2 is almost here I'm considering giving Huggies another chance. What's your experience been with diapers? Which brand do you prefer?

I love Sams Club brand for DD1 but those don't start till Size 3.

Love Huggies. I've never had a problem with them just when DS needed to go up in size. DD is using them now too and no problems yet. I don't like Pampers though and their NB size seems smaller than the Huggies NB size too.

So far the Pampers Swaddlers have worked out the best for DS. We received several different brands as gifts and you could definitely tell with the generics, he soaks right through them. Total PITA at night.

We just bought a Huggies as an experiment this week so we will see how that goes.

I didn't mind either one, but Huggies seem to run smaller than Pampers. Both brands worked well.

We are stashed with Pampers Swaddlers all sizes. LO has been in NB since birth and is 4 weeks old.

With the boys, i was always a die hard pampers fan. Huggies have changed in quality since then, and now i love them!!! I really like how they fit DD- she's tiny and they fit so nicely below her cord with no rolling.

I like Huggies size 2 and up. The NB and size 1 leaked with DD#1.

I personally liked the pampers swaddlers as far as size. The hospital used these and they worked great except you had to fold the front down so it wouldn't rub the umbilical stump. I've used the Huggies NB and they are really small. I finally used up the open package that we had and exchanged the other for Pampers. Both give my LO a rash though. I am switching to clothe diapers soon after I get enough pocket inserts to get me through more than 2 days. I have since switched to the size 1 in the huggies pure and natural until then.

My little one leaked through his Huggies, from what I heard other mom's say they find that Pampers works better for boys and Huggies better for girls.

Pampers Swaddlers ONLY!! My son leaked horribly in Huggies and did so-so in loves and so-so in other Pampers styles. He is a size one right now and we still only use the Swaddlers!

No problems with either. We have been using size 1s of both for a week and no problems with either of those... However she is getting more formula now so the test is about to begin. First major formula poop (24 hrs in the making) this morning in huggies with no leaking but I was there to change right after she did it.

I personally preferred pampers swaddlers, but they were just too expensive. We tried Wal-Mart, but I didn't like the way the tabs stuck, they seemed too stiff. I felt like Target had the closest fit and feel to pampers, it just didn't have the changing green line. But to save the money - it's been worth it for us!
