A GTKY post

What are you getting LO for the holidays?

Will you be doing any holiday baking? If so, what?

Where will you be for the holidays?

How much shopping have you accomplished?

What's your favorite holiday tradition, if any, that  you've started with LO?

Re: A GTKY post

  • A scooter, Thomas stuff and some books.

Oreo truffles, lemon currant squares and fudge this year. Usually do more but can't be asked this year.

    At the beach.

All, or almost all. Just a few more little things to pick up. God bless Amazon!

All our traditions are held over from our own childhoods or  from our many, many years dating, but I'm working on finding new ones.

  • What are you getting LO for the holidays?

8 Days of Hanukkah... 8 gifts

    1) Mickey Mouse Clubhouse set

    2) MMC Glove Balloon

    3) MMC Blast-Off Rocket

    4) Brown Bear (book, illustrated by Eric Carle)

    5) Fisher Price Little People Flap Book (Animals)

Doubtful. Unless I make Latkes but I don't see Aaron even trying them, even though he loves potatoes

Where will you be for the holidays?

We're actually traveling to Virginia the week after Christmas, but our family Hanukkah gathering is not decided since SIL1 is going to Florida

How much shopping have you accomplished?

Need to get for my nieces/nephews and DH, and a few friends' kids.

What's your favorite holiday tradition, if any, that  you've started with LO?

    We haven't really started any...

Of course A would get a ton of Mickey stuff Wink And he will LOVE the Brown Bear book. M got it for his birthday and adores it.

Mmmmm... Latkes. I used to have an awesome recipe for potato and parsnip latkes. Maybe I'll make some for M during Hanukkah.

What are you getting LO for the holidays?

LO doesn't understand holidays yet, so perhaps nothing. Or maybe we will buy something if we decide that he needs it and call it a Christmas present.

Will you be doing any holiday baking? If so, what?

No baking for me. We will be visiting DH's family in Connecticut and Massachusetts, so they will be doing all the baking.

Where will you be for the holidays?

     Read the previous answer.

How much shopping have you accomplished?

     Done! Yeah...Amazon:)

What's your favorite holiday tradition, if any, that  you've started with LO?

Don't have any yet. Would like to start some with LO, but no idea what that would be for now.

  • What are you getting LO for the holidays?  Nothing really - probably just wrap up some socks or a hat or something...he's too little to know and will probably just spend the day eating the wrapping paper and bows anyway :)

Will you be doing any holiday baking? If so, what?  Oreo truffles, lots of cookies (several cookie exchanges!), and some fresh bread

Where will you be for the holidays?  Getting the heck out of Dodge...we hide out in a rental house on the Oregon coast.  5 nights/6days in a little ocean side town is just what the doctor ordered around the holidays!

How much shopping have you accomplished? I booked the rental house...haven't gotten past that yet.  We don't buy much usually though so no need to panic

What's your favorite holiday tradition, if any, that  you've started with LO?  none yet.

  • What are you getting LO for the holidays? Wood Play Kitchen, Doll, Doll Bed, Books and Art stuff. (found most of items on sale throughout the year)

Will you be doing any holiday baking? If so, what? Yes, Christmas cookies, Meltaway Bars, Buckeyes

Where will you be for the holidays? At home for Xmas morning then off to my Mum's for her delicious Xmas dinner

How much shopping have you accomplished? Most of it.

What's your favorite holiday tradition, if any, that you've started with LO? Giving/Reading DD a new Christmas book on Christmas Eve. DH and I watch Love Actually every Christmas Eve. And, in a nod to my husband's heritage we have blintzes for Christmas breakfast...since the rest of the day is rich in English tradition :)

  • What are you getting LO for the holidays?  A play kitchen -- and probably some new jammies, a couple of books, and a "Pocket Pixie" (homemade doll) I'm planning to make...hopefully starting sooner rather than later!

Will you be doing any holiday baking? If so, what?  decorated sugar cookies & whatever else sounds good in the moment!

Where will you be for the holidays?  here & there... at various family members' homes within driving distance

How much shopping have you accomplished?  Um...none.

What's your favorite holiday tradition, if any, that  you've started with LO?  None yet... but I'm hoping she'll enjoy decorating the tree, making cookies, attending Christmas Eve church service, and whatever else makes it on the "agenda"

  • Toys. Of the Fisher-Price/Playskool variety.

While I normally bake for the holidays, I'm going to say no but that could change. I was pregnant & tired last year, insisted I wasn't baking, then came home from work & baked up a storm Christmas Eve so I would have something to take to my parents' open house.

Christmas Eve with my parents, Christmas Day with my IL's. I'd rather people come to our house for LO's first Christmas, but it ain't happenin'.

Done shopping for LO & my parents, shopping for MH as we speak. So, not even 25%. The one time of year I can't stand setting foot in the malls.

One of our local department stores has a Christmas display/light show, which we're taking LO to this year. MH & I are taking off work for the day & it will be a family outing day :)

    Lilypie Second Birthday tickers

Nothing much for the newbie, maybe a book or something like that. she will only be a month old at christmas time.
