Upstate NY Babies

*JNK and Ashnmike*

Since we're all due near each other, how are you ladies fairing at this point? How are you sleeping? I can't believe we're at biweekly appts already!  My sleep is touch and go-some nights good, others not good. Today I've been up since 5am for no reason. Got up to pee and couldnt fall back asleep! I hate that!  Feeling pretty good-some swellling in my feet by the day's end and some discomfort here and there. Overall doing ok though!

Re: *JNK and Ashnmike*

  • I'm pretty good.  My inner thighs are so sore though.  Feels like I have been doing splits.  I don't remember that from dd, but I am guessing that my body is spreading out?  Who knows.

And I am having constant braxton hicks - for the last few weeks or so.  It is crazy how hard my stomach always is.  And again, that never happened with dd.  But I rested so much more when I was pg with her, and this time my "rest time" is at work really.

I sleep good. I have to pee, but I can go right back to sleep.  And I am not too uncomfortable generally.  I can't wait to be done with work simply so I don't have to put socks and shoes on anymore - although that means I will be going thru the snow in flip flops haha.

We have a lot to do still to get ready.  Not getting stuff - I think we are all good there.  All equipment is gender neutral from dd for the most part, and my neighbor gave me a ton of baby boy clothes.  But we still haven't gotten the room together for baby - haven't even really decided what to do about the room!  Or sleeping arrangements for baby and Ellie.  Should we give her the bigger room if we move her to the bigger bed?  But that means re-painting her current room since it is pink and brown.  And that is a lot of changes for her, so I am hesitant.  We will probably just end up leaving her there and a couple months down the line dealing with it then.

  • I hear you on the sleep, it's SO hard for me to fall back asleep, so I dread getting up to pee!  Like JnK, I've been having major BH, which I never had with DD, it is such a strange feeling!  My back and hips and achy but that was expected.

I am really struggling with how to handle Ava visiting at the hospital. I don't want her to get upset when she has to leave me, and I don't want her thinking I am choosing the baby over her. I am debating on just having her come when it's time for me to go home, but I can't imagine going that long without seeing her, especially if I drop her off at my mom's the night before the c/s. What are you guys going to do?

We get to meet our babies next month!!  :-)

  • It's different for me bc of her being used to me being gone with work. We won't know ahead of time ( unless I get induced later on). But she will be with my dad most likely and then josh will go home to sleep unless I labor thru the night. My mom was in the room with me last time and I will want that again. My sister is a teacher and it may work out that she is off in which case she will help watch Ellie too.  Even our neighbors offered to watch her if it is an evening or weekend. Honestly, I will probably miss her more than she misses me, so we will play it by ear and probably have her visit for short times.

Ellie told me this morning that she thinks I ate Clayton haha.

  • Not sure on the hospital stay yet. If I have another CS, Dh will probably stay a few nights with me. I'm hoping my Mom will come in and stay here with DD so she can at least be home. I'm guessing she'll come up to visit with my Mom/DH everyday. My ILs are in town as well so they'll offer to help out I'm sure if we need it.

Baby's room isn't even started really. Since we built our house, the paint/carpet is done, but thats it. We have to get the furniture delivered (I'm hoping around Xmas) and once thats here, I can get the room sort of set up. We delayed getting it b/c of the move and we still have to pay for it....great timing with the holidays!
