Our DS was born 1.5 weeks early. He weighed 6 lbs 9 oz at birth. 4 days later he weighed just 6lbs. at the LC appointment. Then at 6 days old he had gained back up to 6lbs. 5 oz. Last appt he weighed 7 lb 5 oz at 2 1/2 weeks. He is now 4 weeks old and not much bigger. I BF him even though he has had formula 3 times since birth. They supplemented in the hospital due to low heart rate and I have supplemented 2 times at home. I read on here that someone's 3 week old son weighs 12 lbs. It makes me worried that our LO isn't gaining a lot of weight! So how much does your little one weigh?

Re: How much does your LO weigh?
Danny was 8 pounds even at birth...dropped almost a full pound, so we began supplementing formula. Ended up discontinuing breast feeding at 2 weeks.
Today at 5 weeks, he weighs 9 pounds 14 ounces.
Mine was 4 weeks early. Born at 5lb6, down to 4lb13 at 4 days old when we brought him home. He's a little over 6 weeks old now and he's just about 7 lbs even. So if he were born on his due date he'd probably be 7 lbs at 2 weeks-ish old.
Remember that some babies are born at 10 lbs so they have a lot less to go to make it to 12 lbs than an average or smaller birth weight baby!
O was born at 6lbs 15oz. When I left the hospital he was 6lbs 4oz and we had to go back the next two days for a billirubun check. When my milk still hadn't come in and he had lost over 10% of his birth weight I started suplimenting and after 2 weeks of low supply and latching issues we went exclusively to formula. He continued to gain weight and I weighed myself today and then while holding him and it looks like he's up to 10lbs give or take because I'm not sure how accurate my scale is. Next pedi appointment isn't until 2 months.
8 lbs 2.6 oz at birth
7lbs 5 oz at discharge
9 lbs 11 oz at her one month appointment
8 lbs 10 ozs at birth
8 lbs 7 ozs when we left the hospital a day later
8 lbs 10.5 ozs at one week
9 lbs 12 ozs at 2 weeks (Monday)
my read shelf:
i think that sounds totally fine/normal...
mine was:
6.5 at birth
5.11 at discharge
5.15 at one week
6.13 i think at two week followup
7.12 on monday
we have to supplement too...
My DS was born 3 weeks early and weighed 7 lbs 2 oz at birth. He was 6 lbs 11 oz when we left the hospital. At his first pedi appt, he was way down... something like 6 lbs 5 oz. We did some supplementing with pumped BM and formula at that point.
He was doing better at his next 2 weight checks, but then the pedi thought he hadn't gained enough weight at his 1 month check. He was 7 lbs 7 oz. We did the BM / formula supplements again, and he got up to 8 lbs 13 oz at his weight check last Tuesday (6 weeks old). Phew! So now we're back to EBF.
My LO was 7.21 at birth, 7.23 at five days and 8.21 at 17 days.

He was 7 pounds 2 ounces at birth, 6pounds 14 ounces at 2days. At 9 days he was 7 pounds 13 ounces, and at 12 days he was 7 pounds 15 ounces. He's 13 days today and won't get weighed again till he's 2 months old.
At 7 weeks, my LO is right at 8 lbs. He was four weeks early and was 5.3 at birth. Dropped to 4. 13 at the lowest due to and was back to 5.5 at his 2 week check out.
I'm just glad to be on the charts now for percentile!

I think as long as your doctor is working with you on the weight you will be fine. Try not to compare too much because every baby and every circumstance is different. Make sure you are talking with the pediatrician to go over everything.
Maeve was 9 lbs 8.02 oz at birth.
When we left the hospital, she was 9 lbs 2 oz (or close to this)
At the first ped visit she was 9 lbs 1.5 oz
2nd ped visit she was 9 lbs .05 oz
We are supplementing formula with breast now.
