Help keep my feet warm (POLL)

I've decided to break down and buy snow boots for this coming winter.  I'm going to NYC next week but I don't think the weather will be that bad.  But January and Feb is a different story.

I plan on surveying the street fashion next week (it might snow one day) to see what cute boots New Yorkers wear but would love some nestie opinions as well!

(A&B are the same style Sorels, C&D are the same style Sorels, E is from LLBean)

ETA: want to spend $150 or less.  Otherwise I'd get the Cate the Great boots from Sorel ($200).

Re: Help keep my feet warm (POLL)

  • I was in NYC for a week last Feb. and took my (f)Uggs. Honestly, even though the snow was piled high, the sidewalks were always clear and the boots got pretty hot with all of the walking around. I thought they were overkill and I was much happier in my Clarks boots that have a rubber bottomed sole.

  • Yeah for most days I can usually get away with my poor Frye leather riding boots that have been through a couple of NYC blizzards already.  But I don't really want to screw up another pair of boots and the Fryes are not comfortable.  And really really slippery!  I totally slipped and fell on my a$$ many many times in areas where the sidewalks aren't cleared yet (or stepped ankle-deep into the nasty curb-side slush).
