Angelcare Monitor users- What # is your monitor on?

First off, thank you so much for all the detailed feedback! I appreciate you guys taking the time to give me more info on the monitor. I used it last night and LOVED IT!! It was the first time in 6 weeks that I was able to sleep!

I just had a question on what level of sensitivity you have your monitor on. I have it on 3.

Also, when you get up with the baby, do you shut both monitors off so the alarm wont sound? That is what I did last night but wasnt sure if there was an easier way.

Thanks so much!!!

  • I can't remember what ours was set to but know we had adjust it as DS became more mobile.

We would shut the monitor in DS's room off to prevent the alarm from sounding.

  • Mine is set to 2. It really depends on your crib and setup though. Try testing it out by setting to 1 or 2 and laying LO down. Wait a few minutes and see if you get a false alarm. No false alarm and that's a good setting for you. Raising the number should give you less false alarms.
    siggy should be here!
  • I dont remeber the exact number but its in the middle...probably 3. When i get up i dont turn the handsets off just the main unit in her room. The handset in our room always stays in the cradle on. The other is downstairs and gets turned on during naps and turned off sometimes. They will go into standby if the main unit is turned off and they arent but they battery will get low.
  • Ours is set to 3 and we turn both units off when we get DS out of his crib. Glad you loved it!

  • I have two- both are set at around 2.5.  You also want to be sure that you don't set it too high so that every movement reads movement by baby.  An example- we have a ceiling fan- I like to run it on low.  If I turn the sensitivity up to 3 or higher the movement caused by the ceiling fan reads as movement by my LOs.  I test this by turning the unit on without my LO in the crib with the ceiling fan on.  If the unit alarms then I know I don't have it turned up too high.

Oh and I turn both units off when I take baby out- if I just turn the monitor off then the parent unit will beep until it is turned off- I think this is a safety function.
