DD is on antibiotics and while I have been giving her probiotics, she woke up screaming last night with pain. She was a little red and there was a white discharge so I am thinking she has a yeast infection. Bleary eyed, I did a little research and I thought I read that you put yogurt directly on the affected area , in addition to eating it. Has anyone done this? Does it work? I would rather use yogurt than Monistat on her, but only if its truly effective.
Re: Yogurt for yeast infections
DS has had a yeast infected diaper rash in the past where they prescribed some cream for. Basically I just called the on call nurse and she called it right into the pharmacy.
ouch! I am not sure about yogurt, I'd call the pedi
I know in women, cranberry juice can help but not sure about toddlers
Cranberry juice is for UTIs. Yogurt/probiotics and adding vinegar to bathing water are home remedies for yeast infections.
This made me snort my drink. Oh what the neighbors would think.
no kidding...that's what I thought when I read it as a recommendation for thrush on nipples...hmmmm, what window do I have where I can sun myself and not have neighbors peering in? none.
