MH is a Marine, and was told he was put on the list to do a Coaches Course for 3 weeks. Basically he'd be at the rifle range for 3 weeks coaching other Marines on what they are doing, controlling when firing is allowed, helping when a gun is jammed, etc. Well, the class he was signed up for was from Jan 6-27. The 25th is my due date.
Soooo... Because of my due date, they scheduled him to go at the beginning of Feb instead. UGH!!
I would almost rather have him go to the one in Jan. Most FTMs go late, and even if I didn't go late, he is gonna be 45 min away so I could easily just inform the Red Cross or his command if I went into labor, and they would get him home for the birth. Now, he's gonna be gone just after the baby is born for 3 weeks. Idk what to do, I told him I'd rather have him do the one in January but he doesn't think its a big deal.
Is it wrong to ask him to see if they can switch him back? I'd rather have him not miss that time with the baby if he doesn't have to. Especially if they'd send him home from the course if I went into labor while he was still there. WWYD?
Re: DH vent/question
Are you going to have family or anyone else there? If not, I would definitely have him switch back. You might go late, or you might have a c-section or other things could happen.
GL!
I would want him there for the birth. Those first few months will be a huge adjustment period regardless but if he is just 45 mins away at the range for 3 weeks I would go for the Feb class. He will still be able to talk to you daily.
As for being a FTM, I went early with my DD and had a c-section. If H wasn't there man I would have lost my mind. That is why I would suggest your H being there for the birth.
H won't be here for this baby's birth but my mom will be here.
