Re: homosexual families update

I was not sure how to title this post, but I just wanted you all to know that I shared w/ my sister and her partner via phone a lot of the support you ladies gave the LGBT community yesterday and it brought them to tears. I told her that despite the fact that it was just a small handful of internet strangers, it was still encouraging. They wanted me to post and thank you all for your kind words and support. You ladies rock!! :)

Re: Re: homosexual families update

  • I wondered based on the title what this would be about. I didn't get to participate in that thread. It was later and I didn't post. But I think equal rights for everyone regardless of sexual preference or skin color. We are all people.

Glad the support moved them to tears. That is nice to hear.

  • That's awesome! :) I really, really hope our children's generation doesn't even think twice about this issue.

  • I know my children won't bat an eyelash! I have also succeeded in changing my in-laws' outlook on the issue, and my FIL is a prominent Republican politician.

  • My brother is gay, so I hope my children will be open minded. That is how I will raise them.

  • Clearly the majority of our generation is accepting of it, but there are still people adamantly against it. My comment was more so saying, I hope our children's generation as a WHOLE has no discriminatory views on this issue. The people against it now that are having children will pass their views on to their children, but I hope that the mass opinion helps to change their minds. My husband grew up in a very Southern Baptist family (his grandfather is a preacher) and they all think being homosexual is HORRIBLE. Thankfully, my husband had a mind of his own to think otherwise.

  • I want my sister to be a prominent part of my daughter's life. Like I said yesterday, I hope that the kids they one day hope to have will be in our lives and we can celebrate them just as our daughter is being celebrated.

  • That's good to hear. Smile

I don't believe your sexual preference is a choice, I believe you are born that way. So obviously there is a chance my baby (and any of the April 12 babies) will be gay. And I really hope that they get the love, respect, and equal rights as any other person.

As is mine, and I think this is a blessing. Our children will grow up comfortable with it, and it most likely will take years before they even fully know what "gay" is. So they will love their uncles as humans and people, before they even understand sexual preference.

  • I am a person who thinks homosexuality is wrong, but I don't judge or condemn people for their choices. It isn't my place it is God's. I also do not think people are born gay; it has a lot to how a person is raised and situations they go through. I will raise my daughter to know it is wrong according to the bible. Every sin is equal the key is to just love and accept everyone even if you have conflicting views.

You clearly created an AE just to make this comment.  If you feel this way then own it with who you really are.  Otherwise, just go away with your annoying ignorance.
