Who wants to diagnose ME or "If you wear glasses"

I couldn't decide on a subject line so I used both Big Smile

I woke up with a swollen L eyelid this morning. Sort of like when you have a stye but there's no stye. No recent injury. Just puffy. I took Zyrtec and Motrin and it looked better in a couple hours and it's just barely noticable now.

Tonight, my vision seems like there's a black ring around the edges. Especially at the bottom of my eyes. Now, today is the first day I've ever worn my glasses all day. I've had them for driving for 6-8 months but I had a training class today and needed them for the Powerpoint slide show.

So what do you think? Swelling and visual change related? Or random swelling and tunnel vision from eye weakness from wearing the glasses all day?Geeked It does kind of seem like I can still "see" my frames? But if a patient told me that...I'd think it sounded kind of dumb!!

  • What's up w/ your thyroid? Have you gotten your levels tested recently?

Believe me, Graves Disease crossed my mind, especially when there was an actual SLIDE about it with a picture in the training class =D. I had my levels tested 2-3 months ago when I asked about Adult ADD and my inability to focus or finish tasks. They were "normal" but since I haven't been normal in years, she said I may feel Hypo for awhile until my body adjusts to the not so rapid pace. I have no other Symptoms of Hyperthyroidism at this time. I do have a standing lab order for my next appt though. I guess if my eye is still jacked tomorrow I could get my blood drawn early. I will be at a hospital =)

  • I have glasses but wear my contacts 99.9% of the time. That being said, I've never had something like that. Could it be an aura for a migraine? I would definitely call the dr tmr if it's still visible to you. If it goes away, I would ask a dr friend later just to know. That sounds odd to me. Sorry!

I hadn't thought of that. I'll dose myself up with drugs before I go to bed just in case!!! (Advil/Benadryl). It's mostly gone now but was distractingly severe for at least 2-3 hours. I guess we'll see after class tomorrow too...
