how old we your toddlers when you moved them out of the crib

I'm expecting #2 in may my dd will be 21 months at that time. I'm wondering should we buy another crib or should we just get Chloe a toddler bed.

She's a climber so I figure she'll be hopping out of her crib very soon anyway.

We took all the rails off DDs crib right at the end of the 21st month. I'm looking for a twin bed for her as a toddler bed is really narrow without the rails but she's doing fine with it. We have a gate on her door. She still takes 2hr naps (most days) and sleeps all night.

Still in a crib here. no plans to move, but don't have a baby on the way either.

If I was KU, I think we would buy another crib. I'm in no hurry to move him and he's not a climber.

We moved my first at 2...he did well, but then we had a baby and moved, and I kind of wish I had waited.

Do you plan on putting the new baby in his/her crib right away? You could always buy some time using a bassinet/PNP.

Ds is almost 16 months and he has been in a twin mattress on the floor for a week. It's working well for us. Never used the crib

We switched DS at 16 months and he did great! Took out all the toys except books and stuffed animals (didn't mind if he played with those). We have a night light and tried to keep everything in the same place. I would at least try to switch her now. Good luck.

We moved DS to a twin bed at 22 months (2 mos before DD was born). It was pretty rough getting him to stay in it though. It was more out of not wanting to buy another crib than anything that we did it then. I would have kept him in a crib longer bc he had never even tried to to climb out. DD will stay in her crib for as long as she will fit!

DD is starting to climb, and we're planning on getting her into a big girl bed by 18 months.

DD switched at 21 months and did great. I only have books in her room (we have a playroom) so all she can do is "read" to herself in the dark.

We also got the Cloud B turtle nightlight. Any nightlight that plugged into the wall she would try to pull out and this one shuts off after 45 min.

We moved DD to a toddler bed at 17 months for this reason and because #2 is due when she's 20 months. It went beautifully! She helped Daddy take down the crib & set up her new bed and was very excited about it.
