So our video monitor is broken. We had the old summer best view monitor. But the thing that sucks is we also have the extra camera still in the box. I called up Summer to find out if I can buy just the handheld from them. But I can't because they have a new bestview out now. They will offer me the new bestview for $109 (bc the original is over a year old) and exchange the extra camera for free since it is less than 1 yr old.  So I think it is a good deal, I just want to make sure that we should stay with them.

Does anyone have the new bestview and dislike it?  I forget june, if this is the version you said you have.

Does anyone have a non-summer one and love it?

I need to be able to see 2 rooms.  And I want a handheld - not a tv one.

    I had a Summer one and had problems with it the entire time we used it.  Finally we decided to toss it and got one made by Samsung.  It was definitely pricey, but has worked awesome and is well worth the money in my opinion.

    We just went through this same thing and I posted on here asking for the same thing but didn't get much responses, so I'm anxious to see if we can get more recs this time! We chose to get the new version of that monitor and it sucks!! In fact we've complained to the company about the video quality of this new one. If you go onto amazon and read the reviews on it they also say the same thing. The video quality of the newer version is horrible...especially the night vision. This makes no sense to me that the older one had a way better quality video than this "newer more improved" one.

    Well, I sent you a text with my opinion but I will put it here for everyone else. I love the new best view. No, the video quality isn't as good as the day/night but that wasn't digital. I think it is the same as the old best view. The other features make up for it IMO.

    Next time your over JNK, remind me to let you look at it if you haven't purchased it yet. The company is so great they will help solve the problem if you have one. The only issue I have is that the unit clicks a little when I am on the computer, it is the wireless internet that does this. I bought the silicone sleeve for it at B3 (used coupon) and love it even more.

    It depends on what you want to see at night. I can see R in his bed, I can see where his fav toy is, I can see his hair and ear and he is sleeping on his belly at the top of the camera. The volume is loud but clear, it is on the lowest setting and I can hear him breathing. It did take some getting used to, nothing beat the day/night but that broke and was HUGE....didn't have the pan/tilt feature either.
