I was hoping to have DD's bday at Book People and do a puppet show but i just heard back (finally) and she said since it's a holiday (1-1) they will be short staffed and can't host a party.
so back to the drawing board with only a month to plan.
anyone have any ideas of entertainers to hire, specifically puppet shows or the like? dd is really into that right now.
or know of any other places that do that sort of thing we can go to that is open on new years day?
Re: kid entertainer for hire?
michelle, that sounds really fun! do you think he'd be available on a holiday? does he do the 11am story time? maybe i'll have to sneak out of work next week to check it out!
An old friend of mine is a clown/balloon-artist/face painter.

How funny--Sparkles was the clown at the birthday party of a friend of mine's kid's fifth birthday party this past summer. She did balloon artistry at the party, and all the kids loved her. She even did a special/awesome Strawberry Shortcake ballon figure for the birthday girl.

Yep 11am. I think there's a good chance he's available. He won't be out of town and we don't have any family plans that I know of :-) I can ask him hypothetically and see what he says.
cs612 hired her for her daughter's party this past fall, and she was really good. She did an amazing job with the face-painting!
I was also going to say that I heard a guy on JB and Sandy this morning - he's a little person, looking to be hired as an Elf for parties and events this holiday season. I didn't catch if he has an actual show or he just does pictures, etc. I know your party is after Christmas so probably not something you'd be looking for, but JB and Sandy did say to hit them up on their FB pages, if anyone is interested in hiring this guy.

We used Mr. Johnny last year for DD's 3rd bday. He was AWESOME! The kids had a blast.

She does a ton of stuff! She has packages that range from $55 all the way up to $400. I think we paid about $200. She read stories, sang songs, did bubbles, stickers and got the party in a fun mood. I did it for Linc's first birthday but Em's friends that were there and they ranged from 2 1/2 to 5. Everyone had fun parents were singing and even my sister who was a Senior at the time was dancing with one of her friends. I would totally do it again in a heartbeat. I also used her for a birthday party and paid $85, but would do the $165-$190 again because it was full entertainment and then all I had to do is cake and she sang and did Happy Birthday on the guitar. It was AWESOME!
