Babies: 0 - 3 Months

7-8 weeks sucks

DD is still such a calm baby, but the poor thing has a little cold and is fighting sleep to the death. :( She was up from 4-10pm last night. I hear this is supposed to be the worst time (6-8 weeks), but have a had time seeing that it will get better while in the thick of it. Anyone else??

  • Mine is great most of the day, but around 8 or 9 o'clock he just starts melting down.  I know he really just wants to go to sleep, but fights it.  I'm hoping he settles down soon.

  • ah! a cold too???! poor you! im thinking of you and hoping it gets better soon! i really feel like another week or so will make a world of difference. my LO is even *gasp* starting to not cry in the car! (of course, this involves me dipping her paci in whatever im drinking to get her excited about it and not cry, but hey, ill take it.)
  • My LO has a cold too. Not fun. I'm still waiting for that magical time when his mood improves LOL. But honestly at almost 12 weeks now, there are a lot more happy times during the day. I just wish the darn kid would TAKE A FREAKING NAP! lol

But his mood has improved. Still fussy in the evenings, but not all day long like he was around 7-8 weeks. You're almost over the hump!

  • I'm at 7 weeks tomorrow. I hope it gets better in the next couple weeks, my little baby is quite the fuss pot and is sleeping horribly! Love reading that there will soon be light at the end of the tunnel!

  • My lo has some congestion in his nose and to top it off he had his 2 month shots yesterday Sad

  • My little guy is on a permanent nap strike.  Seriously.  Aren't babies supposed to sleep?!  He's awake more during the day and mostly happy but refuses to let me put him down. Makes for a challenging time when juggling a 3 year old as well.  I know that the next few weeks will bring improvement and change.  The benefit of being a 2nd time mom is that I know this won't last for forever and I just have to survive this for now.  Hang in there mamas!

  • YES. We are having the worst week yet! DS had gas, tons of poop, and a stuffy nose today. He also wanted to nurse pretty much every hour. He finally conked himself out and went to sleep at 9 PM. It's the first time he's slept all day!

I feel like it is going to be a long couple of weeks, but we'll pull through...
