But I dont ever post on the toddler boards and I am so so so so so excited!
This is long, I am just so excited!!!!
Sophia has been in Early Intervention & Speech Therapy since Feb/March. A few weeks ago one of the speech therapists expressed some concern that Sophia still wasn't talking on her own. The "sentences" she uses were things she hears a lot "that's a", "what is that", "see you later"...you know things you usually say together when talking to a toddler.
We took a couple of weeks off from all the services {she has 3 sessions a week normally}. And in the two weeks something clicked. And Sophia really made a ton of progress. Counting, saying letters, saying her first spontaneous sentence, making requests for things she wants, singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.....
I talked with one of her speech therapists this morning about it and she feels like taking a break or scaling back on her sessions may be what Sophia needs. When we started she was young and not saying ANYTHING and she needed the 3 days a week of focused sessions. But now she doesn't think she does. So I just talked to her EI therapist and she said that she agrees, and that we may be ok ending EI services at the end of the year!!!!!!
This is so amazing and awesome. Just 9 months ago she wasn't talking at all, and was delayed and having constant meltdowns because she couldn't communicate. We have come so far!! I know many of you are FTM and this may not be that big of a deal. But this is so big for us!!!! I can't wait for my husband to call home to tell him!
Re: Not Baby Related-More toddler related but I am SO EXCITED!

That's awesome! My friend's daughter has also made a ton of progress the last 2 weeks and it's been amazing to actually hear her talk. She's even saying my name now, which makes me melt everytime!
So happy for you and your daughter!
