How do you pronounce Everett?

Is it Ever-ett or Ev-rett?

We say it both when talking to our son. I usually say it Ev-er-ett, but sometimes when I'm saying his name fast I lose a syllable. The way I normally say it is the correct way. Now my IL's, with their midwestern accent, end up saying Ev-ert, which drives me nuts.

I grew up in a city that was next to Everett and I pronounce it Ev-rett

I actually used to live in Everett - the er is silent so Evrett (sort of)

I've always heard the surname prounced EV-rett. B's middle name is the surname (my MIL's maiden name) so we pronounce it EV-rett. But when the name is given as a first name with no ties to the surname, I've heard it pronounced both ways.

Not sure if that makes sense.
