I'm too paranoid to use a video monitor since anyone with the right tools can tap into them. So am I just going to have to pull the monitor from DS's room to put in BabyDos's room? This seems to be the only solution, unless I'm missing something.
We don't have a video monitor. I have the Sony BabyCall for DD1 and intend to keep using it for her (I want to be able to hear if she's out of bed once we switch tot he toddler bed!). Once we move DD2 to the nursery I'll get a second monitor for her. I'll just have to adjust frequencies on both to make sure they don't interfere with each other.

We don't. My kids share a room too and manage not to kill each other ;-) Our condo is also pretty small I've never actually needed a monitor (video or otherwise). We used the Angelcare with our oldest but more for the movement part (would've used it for #2 but they slept in the PnP until almost a year and we could never get it to work right in there).
We don't. We have a cheapo sound monitor for my DD just to make sure she's not doing something she shouldn't. We also have hr Angelcare monitor for DS. I never wanted a video and we've done fine without one!
SAHM to the sweetest little girl and boy... I love my job!
We have sound monitors and had an angelcare sense monitor until DS was 8? months old. With the new baby we will use the angelcare sense monitor again and just get another sound monitor.

This is the monitor we have as well. My problem with it though is that if my cell phone or anything electronic is ANYWHERE near it, there is that high pitched interference sound.
Maybe I will try this and just be sure to keep the receipt incase it doesn't work out. I'm paranoid since we have a ranch and even though I can hear DS without a monitor, I like that I can hear every little thing in the room with one. In my crazy mind I would be able to hear his window creaking open or something haha.
We dont, and never had a video monitor. We always just had two different sound machines, one for each room. It was never an issue. We had a Sony and a Fisher Price and they worked fine right next to eachother.
We don't have one. We also use the AngelCare and love it. I bought a sound only angelcare to use for DD#1 when #2 arrives. There are certainly times I wish we had a video monitor, but don't want to spend the $$.

Get a piece of plywood to put under the PnP mattress and it will work great! Just an FYI for your #3!
We are expecting our 4th and just got one. Up to this point, we have never had a monitor of any kind and it was never an issue.
We only got one now because of DD#2 really - we moved her to a "big girl bed" in preparation for baby and she is quite active at night and we wanted to see what she was up to. It's been hilarious what she does after we close the door!
I don't know that we will use the monitor for baby until the big kid bed since we just never have....

We don't have a video monitor and just now got a regular monitor for LO #2. I don't feel like I'm missing anything. Monitors kinda creep me out. I really just prefer to use my mommy ears. I'm a very light sleeper, anyway.
We have two separate sound monitors. Sometimes myself or DH are in our finished basement, and the kids are two floors above us. I would never be able to hear what's going on otherwise.
I don't have a video monitor for my first and if I did I bet I would watching it all the time. I have the Sony BabyCall and it works well. I'm getting another one for the second and am just going to put it on a different frequency.
