We go to the Learning Experience in Farmington Hills (at 10 and Orchard, more or less). Very happy with them so far--we've been going there for almost two months. Big corporate center, super-clean, a lot of transparency, parents are welcome at any time, all the staff there knows my son by name and seems to treat him with kindness.
We take our two girls (now 16 months and 3 years old) to Sunny Day Care & Montessori in downtown Farmington. They are privately owned, which is what I wanted honestly, and we've been with them since my first daughter was 12 months old, as I too work full time. What's great about them is that while they provide child care at one of the facility, they also have a full Montessori Preschool at the other end of the facility, so when my older daughter turned 3 and was ready for preschool, I didn't have to go hunting for a new preschool and deal with two drop offs, I can still go to the same place! (Most child care facilities are just that, child care, and don't ALSO have a preschool). Both my girls have thrived there, and the staff turnover rate is so low (I think most of the staff there have been there for close to 10 years or more).
They also have a Facebook page where they post pics of the kids (with written permission from parents) and give cute updates during the week on the activities the children are up to. REALLY makes my day to see my girls having fun with their friends. As an aside, we also have Parent Night Out activities and I just think that is really cool and adds to the whole "we're a family" feeling that I get there.
If you call for a tour, Sue is the director, and tell her Katie said hi! (no discounts for referral, but she'll know it's me) Feel free to e-mail me if you want more info on Sunny Day Care. karusak@hotmail.com
