Baby Names

Scout and Wiley (sibset)

Both cute as a button girls that were at our Pedi office this morning. They looked about 9 and 7. I like them, but I only like Wiley for a boy.

  • I had a chinchilla named Scout. Also my exMILs dog has that name. So, unfortunately, I can't get past that. My other chinchilla was Piper and I wish I hadn't used it because I think it's an adorable name.

  • When I hear Wiley I think of Wile E. Coyote -- or the adjective Wily, which of course means crafty or scheming.  Dislike.
  • Wow -- they have brave parents! Scout I've heard of on a girl (Hollywood-style, that is: Bruce Willis and Demi Moore [blech]) and of course, the To Kill a Mockingbird reference. Wiley, on the other hand, is all boy to me. I had a huge crush on the actor who played Mitch in "Dazed and Confused" back in the day -- actor's name Wiley Wiggins. Interesting.
