suggestions for preschool teacher gifts?

THis is our first year of preschool, so this is all new to me. 

About how much do you spend?

Are gift cards appropriate?  I figure they probably get tons of stuff that the kiddos have made and they might like a gift card (plus I'm running low on time for that).

    I think the consensus on here is $ or GC. I would spend between $25-$30 on each teacher.

    Cash, not gift cards and a really sweet note. Two teachers? I would say about $25 each. I also liked it when a mom would bring us breakfast and coffee. I had this one great mom that did that every Monday for the month of January (we were closed Dec) and that was really sweet of her!

    We give cash.  $40-50 with a written note in a card.

    How many teachers does she have?

    DD only has one teacher now so i'm going to do  $50 GC and the stay well kit Rosie posted about yesterday.

    When DD had two teachers i'd do a $25 GC each and a small gift like hand lotion/sanitizer stuff which is what i'll do for DS's teachers now, which i actually completely forgot about until writing this response. oops.

    eta: oh, i should also add that i LOVE LOVE LOVE DD's teacher so i wanted to spend a little more. and she's been her teacher for over a year now. :-)
