Cloth Diapering

Can you explain the logistics of non EBF poo?

So far at almost 4 months cloth diapering is going well, but I'm confused about what we need to do in a few months when they start solids. The changing table is outside the bathroom in the hallway and the diaper pail is right next to it. I can't figure out how we would clean the diapers in the toilet without like a bunch of extra steps each time (nowhere to put the baby down nearby). Can someone explain to me how you deal with poopy diapers like I'm 5? Thanks!

Re: Can you explain the logistics of non EBF poo?

  • 1. Change baby's diaper

    2. Leave poo filled diaper on changing table

    3. Move baby to pack n play, hand over to dad, put in jumparoo

    4. Go back to dirty diaper

    5. Bring dirty diaper to bathroom

    6. Spray/Scrape/Dunk n Swish

    7. Wring Out

    8. Put Diaper in Pail

Its really not that many extra steps - I just laid it out like I would have to do for my husband - lol. maybe takes me an extra 2 minutes beyond pee pee diaper changes....

  • Exactly what the PP mentioned, though I have also recently discovered the love of a hanging wetbag in the bathroom.  Non-poopy diapers still go in the regular pail, but I put the dirty ones in the wetbag after rinsing.  Less mess.

  • Change diaper and lay aside

    Put new diaper on baby

    Put baby somewhere safe/comfortable

Return to diaper to deal with it (whatever method you plan to use)

Return to baby and move on with your day

    GL!
