Am I crazy to ask...

Am I crazy to ask my Re for immunologic testing and/or blood clotting panel drawn before IVF# 3?

I have no reason to believe I have these issues, but I this maybe my last IVF and I really want this to work.

I would talk to the RE about it if you are wondering at all. You don't want anything left you could question after, if YKWIM.

It also depends on your coverage. If the tests would be covered by insurance then I'd say do them. If you're oop then maybe not.

TTC with severe MFI since 9/08 IVF w/ ICSI #1 May/June 2010= BFP twins

I asked about this extra testing after each failed IVF.  My RE insists it's not needed in my case. I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, we are OOP and I'm glad to not have the extra expense.  But I'd feel more confident moving forward if I knew those things were ruled out.  Def ask your RE.  It van't hurt to have a discussion about it.

Thanks ladies for the advice. I am going to ask about the immunologic testing and to have a blood clotting panel drawn.

I am OOP for fertility treatments, but some diagnostic testing is covered.  I'm not sure if my health insurance will cover this cost. However, I would like to make sure I have all my bases covered.

    Thanks again  <3

I think since you are paying so much for an IVF cycle that it would be worth it. I would check to see it is covered. Maybe your RE could make it so it looks like you need some of it at least.

I don't think my RPL was even very expensive, but it was covered, but I had two losses.
