If you've done it, I'd like any tips. I think I'd feel guilty formula feeding since I worked so hard to nurse DS until a year but I am willing to supplement if it doesn't work. I wasn't feeling too overwhelmed but it until a coworker with twins and a son 2 1/2 years old said it was next to impossible so I may as well just take advantage of the fact that insurance covers formula 100% in MA. How did you make it work?

Re: Nursing twins with a toddler
I ebf my girls, they are 11 wks. dd1 is 3.5 yrs now. whether you bf or ff you'll still be tending to the babies, so I don't know that ff will make the siuation easier. I tandem feed and actually have my hands free to help dd1 if need be (or type like Im doing now
You can employ any technique you use to occupy your ds,also sometimes DD1 will sitnext tome on the couch and we will watch tv or talk. Really just like anything else, we just approach it like a new routine/part of life and it hasnt been an issue.
Good point. I am nervous about coming back to work and pumping enough but I know I would feel so guilty if I didn't try.

Whatever way you choose is going to be difficult because you're going to have to sit and feed them one way or the other. I EBF my guys and I have a 2 year old and it was difficult but completely do-able. We did supplement in the beginning and I don't regret it at all! We only supplemented for a week and then it was just breastmilk beyond that.
GL with your decision and ignore your co-worker. Clearly she's a wuss and has no idea how to be encouraging!

We too had a brand new 2 year old and newborn twins. I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly everything went. All that hard work that went into bf your son will help you feel much more comfortable and confident this time around, even with twins. I tandem fed until my girls were 11 months old and nursed them alone for the last couple months because they were poking each other's eyes out, literally! I often nursed on the floor while I was playing with my son. I don't mean to make it sound like it was always easy, there were some trying times, but it was much easier then I had made it in my head before my girls were born.
Good luck!
