Those who have had ectopic pregnancy, question for ya...

I have this gut feeling that I have an ectopic pregnancy even though I'm not having much pain.  I am having consistent mild bleeding and my HCG levels are rising but not as they should.  Basically went from 192 at ~5w to 300 5 days later.  I broke down and went to the ER to see if they could rule out ectopic for peace of mind, especially since my DH is leaving for out of the country on Thursday.

ER findings suggested minimal levels of free fluid in the pelvis, my HCG levels rose to 347 (1 day after the 300 results), cervix is closed, and there was no gestational sac found on vaginal ultrasound.  Although still inconclusive, the more I think about it the more I feel it is ectopic. I'm calling my OB tomorrow morning to see if they can work me in.  I'm supposed to go in for more blood work on Thursday, but if it is ectopic I don't want to wait.  I'm already 6 weeks.

For you ladies that have gone through an ectopic, what findings led your OB to confirm this?  I saw in the post about tubals and methotrexate that some ectopics were caught earlier than 5 weeks.

Sorry so long.  Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how much help I can be. I had an ectopic discovered at 4w6d. But I was unusual in that I had severe cramps and a ruptured tube so it was obvious. Up  until that day my betas were tripling but they never got very high. Only 203 at 4w4d. When I had them check the day I was cramping they were only 320 so they hadn't doubled that time.

I wish I knew more to be helpful. Before my tube ruptured  but as I was cramping my RE did an u/s that showed nothing in my ute and nothing obvious in my tube but tons of blood.

It was only a few hours between that u/s and my surgery and my tube ruptured between that time.

If you're not having cramps then I honestly don't know how they go about figuring that out if you're not far along enough to see anything on the u/s.

I'm sorry you're going through this.

I did not have pain with my ectopic either.  I went to the ER for bleeding around 5 weeks and they did a vag us but couldn't see anything.  I went to my OB a few days later because I was still bleeding and the vag US there confirmed ectopic.
