There was some raw milk cheese in the OOT gift basket we received at a wedding a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't refrigerated or anything so I put it in the refrigerator when we got home a few days later. Now, after Googling the shelf life of raw milk cheese, I see that it's considered unsafe by many. Would you eat it? I don't want to throw away perfectly good cheese (especially since I was going to make mac and cheese with the gruyere tomorrow) but I also don't want to get sick. Oh, and I'm not PG.
On a similar note, if anyone knows how long raw milk cheese stays good, please let me know. Thanks!
Re: Random ?: Would you eat raw milk cheese?
this, but since you're planning on cooking it the raw milk issue goes away so I would feed it to DD, assuming it had been refrigerated
Before being pregnant, I ate raw milk cheddar all the time. There is a great cheddar we bought at the farmer's market. My midwife said it would probably be okay to have it, but we haven't been to the farmer's market.
As for the refrigeration, I have no idea.
