Falling?

You know how when you are first falling asleep and you jump because you feel like you are tripping or falling? I'm pretty sure my LO is doing this. When he first falls asleep he will jerk like that (sometimes more than once) and there is no noise that is startling him so I figure it must be what happens to me, quiet often actually. Does anyone else observe this with their LO?

    Do you mean the Moro Reflex?  Apparently this is human nature.  Its why we swaddle our LO.

    Maybe but my guy is a tummy sleeper so we don't swaddle and this is something that has just started recently.

    yes, it happens to M too. i always thought it must be that falling feeling like we get, but honestly, i don't have any real solid facts whether that's the case.

    That's weird.  The reflex can happen in any position.  Is it bothering his sleep?

    Not so much bothering his sleep but it is annoying to him when he's trying to get to sleep.
