Birth Photography??

Has anyone looked into having their child's birth photographed? Most of you know I am a photo freak so I am thinking that I would love to have photos of this. I have seen some photos from some of the photog's on the spin-off nest photo board and really loved them.

Anyone know of any photog's around here that would do this? I emailed both Josh Solar and Kelly-Photo to see if they would (it isn't listed on their websites) and to seak out rec's if they don't but thought I would check here too!

    You want photos of the actual grunting and pushing birth or right after? I don't have any recs, but just wanted to make sure I understand. :-)

    You are correct! :) I know, it sounds a bit weird but if done right, the photos are tasteful and capture the wonderful moments of birth, along with the struggles! :)

    If you go onto "success after IF" right now and look at MayDay's most recent post, her sister just did this for her. I got all teary watching it! And of course it made me want to have someone there taking pictures for my big day!

    MayDay's video was beautiful! I "knew" her from the MN knot planning boards from when we were planning our wedding. It is always neat to see how far people's lives have come since the planning days.

    My doula did photoraphy for us and I am so thankful to have those pictures!!!! 

    She will do birth photography even if you choose to not have a doula.  Her website is:  newcreationdoula.blogspot.com

    Ditto what Beth said.  I am a long time follower of Maydaygirl's blog and her recent post that showed the slideshow of her birth was so awesome.  It kind of made me wish that I had more "professional" looking photos.

    But then again, you honestly never know what your birth will be like.  I'm not saying this to scare you, really I'm not.  My labor was fine until Landon came out and then all hell seriously broke loose.  I would not have wanted a professional photographer documenting that experience.  It was, without a doubt, the most terrifying experience of my entire life and I'm so glad that we don't have any photos of me screaming and crying after he was born.  If I had had a pro photographer there I would have asked DH to have him leave.  I would not have wanted photos of Landon right after he came out.  He had an Apgar score of 2 if that tells you anything.
