I want my baby back!!

My LO has been STTN since 3 weeks old and 2 and a half weeks ago we decided to transition from RnP to crib at night. The 1st week was rough, I would have to go in there about 6 times a night to put her pacifier back in and she would go right back to sleep so it wasn't really rough - I guess I just got used to her sleeping all night, She then had 2 good nights wed and thurs sleeping 11 hours and 9 hours. Friday night and since then all hell has broken loose. She fights me to go to sleep and then wakes up bright eyed when I put her down. Middle of the night wakes up fussing numerous times. Last night was the worse. She fought me for 2 and a half hours before she finally went to sleep.

This is so out of the ordinary for her. She is a great sleepier who falls asleep on her own (I've tried this since the transition to crib too) she takes a 4, 3 and 2 hour nap during the day in her swing and sometimes squeezes in a little 30 min cat nap in the early evening. Her naps have been normal. Its just night time. She is a happy baby ALL THE TIME. That is why I don't understand. She hasn't been eating extra so I don't think its a growth spurt.

If she still trying to transition to crib? I thought after 2 wonderful nights she had figured it out!

What do you think is going on with her? Oh and she has developed screaming at me during crying.

Whoa..do you mean she naps about 9 hours total during the day?! My LO only sleeps about 2 hrs total!

Yes! She is a wonderful napper! Used to be a wonderful sleeper at night too

Wow! My son has never slept that much ever. Maybe she is getting too much sleep during the day instead of at night?

I would say thats what it was, but she was sleeping all night just 2 weeks ago before the crib transition after having taken all those naps during the day.

I only wish I had a napper like your LO. I am lucky to get one 2 hr nap and then the rest of her naps are usually 45 min.

I am thinking that the problem is the she doesn't feel secure in her crib. The RNP cradles her right?? How about a swaddle or a sleep suit. The swing also cradles her which is why she hasn't changed those sleeping habits. It's worth a shot. We still swaddle and although I love it, I have bought the magic sleep suit once we transition out.

I've tried the swaddle over and over again, different brands and just a blanket. She hates it. She will fight it until I let her out.

There will come a day when you LO will no longer need to sleep that much during the day. Sounds like your LO may have reached that point a couple of weeks ago....
