Hey ladies,
So my doctors office told me today that when I come in for my 16 week appt on Dec 20th, I can get them to do a u/s to find out the sex but they do charge 50$ because its early.
Normally I would just say no and wait, but heres my dilemma. Two days later we leave for Vancouver to spend Christmas with out family. I really want to be able to tell them something about the pregnancy IN PERSON, not just over skype.
Complicating things, we are measuring about 4 days behind schedule, so we wouldn't be quite at 16 weeks, so theres no guarantee that they would be able to find out the sex either.
DH said to pass, but I just dont know!! What do you think?
Re: Knowing the sex early WWYD?
Even if they can't tell if its a boy or girl you would still be able to see the baby! That alone should be worth it.
Hey you are only going to be about an hour away from me at christmas!
Do you want to find out? If so I say go for it, at the very least you can get extra pics. If you have 50 bucks and it's not going to hurt you financially it would make great Christmas 2011 pics:)
You're right. I think we should do it. And I'll actually be in Maple Ridge, people just dont know what that is. hehe.
I'm "people" I know where that is
This is my thoughts too. I always prefer to tell people stuff like that in person. If it wasn't going to hurt the checkbook i would good for it.
Do it.
Honestly, it's very likely they'll be able to tell at 15 something. It doesn't just show up magically at 16 weeks. Most people get very firm guesses at their NT scans nowadays. A good tech with tell you if she knows 99% or if it's a guess.
Very good point
This, but I don't think this is what she wanted to hear...

I found out with DD at 16 wks. I held my breath at 20 wks that she was still a girl...haha but it was clearly 3 little lines, not the penis I saw with my son.
do it.
If you can afford to spend the money I would to allow you to be able to tell your family in person (which is worth more than $50 IMO). If we were finding out I'd probably do the same b/c we're visiting my family over xmas too and telling them then in person then but we're team green!
