Success after IF

Post partum sex...

How long did you wait after birth and when you did, was it painful? I was cleared by the doctor, but nervous it's going to hurt!!!

Re: Post partum sex...

  • I was physically cleared at 6w, but we didn't have sex for another few weeks.  I was worried it would hurt and it did.  Not excruciating, but it wasn't pleasant.  But the more and more we did it, the better it got.

If you're BFing, I've heard that sex doesn't feel as good for a while.  But I'm sure others can chime in.

Just make sure that you take it slow, use lots of lube and try to relax.  :)

    Ditto!

If you BF your hormones may well make things dry so lube is the key.  Go slow and tell DH what you need.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • I was cleared at 6 wks and did the deed at 8 wks pp. To be blunt, it sucked and it was mildly painful. Use lots of lube. If time allows, have some serious foreplay (part of the problem was that I was not in the mood, but I gave it up cuz I felt bad for my poor deprived DH).

  • Cleared at 4 weeks, did it at 4 weeks, no issues.

    But I had a c/s.
