I love houses decorated with lights. The more Griswald the better. I want the house lights on the street to dim a bit when the house turns on their display.

I love everything about Thanksgiving - cooking, eating, having DH home for at least 4 days in a row, spending time with family (I lucked out and have the best in-laws), and of course decorating for Christmas the next day.
I love all the holiday music and tv shows.. .Rudolph, Frosty, etc. Yes, I know I have them on DVD, but there's something special about turning on the TV at 7pm and getting to see Charlie Brown with our own Charlie.

it USED to be because we'd all get together- cousins, aunts, uncles, etc and just hang out all day and catch up, eat, etc. but things are changing so much with all the families... and besides now i have Sabrina and NOW my favorite thing about the holiday season is watching her face light up and listening to her jabber on about "oooo pretty tree" and "oooo cool socks" (stockings hanging), etc.
Christmas Eve -- everything is done! I can enjoy the wrapped presents under the tree, cookies by the fireplace, the anticipation of folks opening the gifts I've given, Christmas Eve service, the quiet, stillness and contentment of it all.
I'm with Stever - the food. I could blame it on being pregnant... but that's just not the truth, I love food all the time! I also love getting together with family, DH's or mine.
The food...treats mostly, like hot cocoa with marshmallows and minty candy canes (I am so enjoying the peppermint chocolate chip milkshakes from chic-fil-a) and I so agree with Pesky about Christmas Eve.

Christmas cookies, the Christmas specials...both the cartoon classics and the live ones with celebrities singing...and the decorations! And I'm so excited to share Christmas with DS for the first time this year...at home and not in the hospital!
I like thefact that if I go to my parents house, I am expected to put my ornaments on the tree, and my mom will make fudge, just like when I was little.
For those who like Christmas lights, we have an area in Milwaukee called Candy Cane Lane, that is six solid blocks of Christmas lights. I can't wait to go this year!

Would it be wrong to say eating? Eating the fabulous cookies & cakes that seem to find their way into my life during this season? Hmm. I like the decorations. I really like wrapping gifts for people. And despite my dislike for the stores this time of year, I like shopping for gifts for people. I like to find what I think is the perfect gift & then wrap it in what I think is the perfect paper for that person. I like how amped up little kids get (of course that was back in the day when the kid getting amped up wasn't mine & could easily be sent home with his parents).
Though I think my new favorite will be watching my LO's face when she sees the lights & decorations Kind of tied with looking forward to seeing MH with my LO on her first Christmas.
Re: Holiday Poll #2
The lights, Christmas music, and the anticipation of watching my child come downstairs on Christmas day to see that Santa has been.

on the shallower side, eggnog and rum!!!!
I love a the magic of a lit up tree in the window and presents underneath. And like PuckChick, I just can't wait to see DD's reaction!
