Pregnant after a Loss

Gummy prenatals?

While shopping for pre-natals I picked up the gummy kind because I have a bit of a sweet tooth and an aversion to giant pills. They taste great! Has anyone else used these or have any thoughts? I highly recommend.

Re: Gummy prenatals?

  • Yes.  They are great for those with m/s!  The only downfall is that they don't have iron in them.

  • I have been taking them for a while now and I like them. I did have to find a gummy dha supplement because it didn't contain a high enough level to make my ob happy. So now I take gummy prenatals and gummy dha

  • I love the gummy prenatals!!  Just make sure you are also taking an iron supplement, because they don't have any iron in them.

  • Thanks for the info on iron, I'll have to look into some additional vitamins. Smile

  • I took them for a while in 1st tri when I was too nauseaous for anything else and they were definitely a lifesaver. I agree w/ pp though, definitely look into an iron supplement as you get further into the pregnancy.

  • I LOVE my prenatal gummies.  I switched to them a month an a half ago and it's one of the best decisions I ever made.  I have yet to forget to take them and I take them before I go to bed, so it's the perfect end to the day.  I take the Up and Up brand from Target.

To be honest? I thought they were great for about a week, maybe two - because they didn't make me feel sick like my prescription ones were. But then I was completely over the sweet gummy taste and hated having that flavor after every dinner.  Now I'm back to taking the one-a-day PNVs...they don't have quite the same ingredients as the prescription ones, but the prescriptions still make me queasy.

I agree, actually I thought they were good for a few months, but now I am so sick of them and the same flavors over and over.  Maybe it's because I've been taking them since my first pregnancy.  I also started craving chalk and sand.....so, as PP said, now I need that iron that the gummies don't have!  I take the One A Day Prenatals now too.

  • Hi, I used the vitafusion before I got pregnant for 6 months are my first 10 weeks, I ended up with Iron deficiency b/c there is 0 iron. I recommend the prescription citranatal harmony, they are very easy on my stomach and I tried many other types.

    hope this helps

This.  I tried the Vitafusion ones after I couldn't stomach swallowing pills anymore, but didn't realize they didn't have iron.  I ended up having low iron levels and need to take iron supplements now (even on top of my regular PNV pill that has iron in it).
