1+ twins moms-stroller Q

Our son will be 2 1/2 when our twins are born and I'm starting to think about a stroller for all three kids.

Considerations:

-DS is definitely calm/safety conscious enough to stand/sit on a little jump seat/platform.

-We live in Texas so something with MAX shade is really important (the reason I worry about DS sitting on a platform--no shade).

- I really need a way to transport all 3 at the same time because I'm a SAHM and DH works long hours for much of the year.

-Current strollers are all singles: snap n go (loved this when DS was a little baby), Chicco umbrella stroller (good for inside stores but our least used stroller), BOB jogging stroller (used for walks, the park, etc. Love it.)

I'd love suggestions! Thanks!

My DS will also be 2 1/2 when the twins come and I got a Valco Trimode Twin with the toddler seat (you can buy a shade for it as well). I figure that will be good until he is 3 or so and then I can always put the platform on the back for when he is a bit older. I plan to get a DSNG for when DH is with us and he can push DS1 in one of our other strollers. I got an amazing deal on this on Craigslist which is the only reason I have it already.

FWIW, I also plan to keep my Phil & Teds though I would never have bought it had I known it was twins. I will put DS1 in the 2nd seat and a baby carrier in the front and wear another one...it was too expensive and bought too recently to think about getting another tandem.

ditto the valco with joey seat.

I now have a 3.5yo and 16 mo twins and my older daughter will still sit in it when I need her to.

My Son is 2.5 and we use and LOVE the BJCS with hitch hiker board.   We go places every single day and definitely couldnt do so without this stroller!    The thing I like most about the hitch hiker board is that he can either stand on it and hold on to the handlebar, or he can sit on it and rest his feet in the basket.    I get stopped by people asking about my stroller set up almost as much as I get stopped by people wanting to oogle the twins and ask me inappropriate questions.  ;)

This is what I have too and I love it, although I've never thought about DS sitting with his feet in the basket... I'll have to try that out!  :)

My DD was 2 1/2 when twins were born too.  we use the double snap and go with the Lascal Buggy Board Maxi.  it fits perfect and big enough for her to sit or stand.  She LOVES it.calls it her skateboard.  It snaps on and off in a second so I can go without when she is not with me.  Hoping it fits as well on my side by side when they outgrow thei carseats.
