1st bloodwork results!

Okay, I just got a call from my RE. My HCG is 49 and progesterone is 26. They are also rx'ing a prog supp and i go back for another beta/prog draw next tuesday. And told me that I can't have sex until I'm at 8weeks! Is this normal?? Thanks ladies!

Great first numbers!!! My RE never said anything to me about not having sex, but I kind of put that rule down myself. The progesterone suppositories would make it messy I guess and I was afraid of seeing spotting afterwards. DH and I didn't have sex until almost 19 weeks. Embarrassed

Thx she did say that the supp can be quite messy.... I told DH about the no sex thing and he is so elated that he could care less! Lol. More power to you for holding out 19 weeks!! You have major will-power..... But secretly, it may be longer for me too because two days after sex last time is when i mc and i am in fear that anything other than walking would not be good...

Last night we went out to dinner and he let his enthusiasm be known (and celebrated a little TOO much!) he REALLY wants to be a daddy before he is 40 next year and is so cute about it!

I TOTALLY get the painful part! If we go even several weeks it hurts a bit... Lol. But you never know... You may be begging for it around your due date! :-P

As far as the sex, I don't think that's standard...from what my OB said, sex can't possibly harm a healthy pregnancy. But it can cause spotting, which can then cause you to panic, so that might be why they are recommending against it. That being said, we have had very little sex this pregnancy.

I was under this impression too... Oh well. Small price to pay for getting my Christmas wish :-)

I'm somewhat surprised they put you on the progesterone suppliment with a number as high as 26, but I'm sure it can't hurt anything either. My OB didn't give me any restrictions with regards to sex, but I was so tired and bloated, I had no desire anyways.

I'm sure it's because of the progesterone that they are not wanting you to have sex...but honestly, even though I've given in to DH a couple of times, I just have no desire right now! I waited a good few weeks anyway too just because I didn't want anything scary to happen. I'm glad to hear that DH is so excited and won't feel neglected by the whole no sex for a little bit thing. That helps! Now sending doubling dust your way!

Hmm the no sex thing is interesting. I am also on progesterone and I was wondering what to do about sex. I take mine at night before bed and figured it would be ok to do it before I take my next dose but I don't know I guess it would still be messy..

Anyways, congrats on the great numbers!!!
