Infertility

leakage ? (sorry TMI)

So sorry for the TMI...

but does anyone know if I could expect less leakage from the Crinone gel than from Prometrium suppos?  This is my 3rd cycle on Prometrium suppos (2x/day), and while I've had leakage every cycle, it is getting significantly worse each time. Like leaking through a panty liner, underwear and onto my pants at work kinda bad.  Embarrassed I know I should just upgrade to wearing a pad 24/7, but was just a little concerned because there seems to be SO much leakage.

I need to refill my suppos tonight, but do you think I should ask my nurse about switching to crinone?  TIA!

After 5 TI Clomid cycles, 5 IUIs, and 2 IVFs we finally got our BFP!
Beta#1 (12dp3dt)= 353, Beta#2 (15dp3dt)= 1466, Beta#3 (22dp3dt)= 14,139, First u/s: TWINS!!

Re: leakage ? (sorry TMI)

  • I don't have experience with the prometrium, but I got leakage from crinone too, also white chunks from it too which was pretty gross, lol. I just wore thin pads.

  • I've only used Crinone, so I can't really compare the two.  But I don't experience really any leakage with the Crinone.  I just occasionally "clean it out" so it doesn't get backed up.  It's very clumpy when it comes out as opposed to liquidy.  Gross.... but the only way to describe it.

Ohhh... in fun colors!!  Maybe it's just me, but I get little to no leakage from the Crinone.

  • I've used prometrium for all 5 of my IUIs and I've never had that much leakage...I'd call your RE or nurse. That seems excessive if it's going through a panty liner and onto your pants!

I'm doing well, thanks :) I had my IUI last Wednesday, so I'm 7dpIUI now. I'm still feeling kinda crampy, but I'll live. How're you doing? Well, besides the nasty discharge? Stick out tongue

GL with that!  Hopefully you have a better experience with the Crinone, not that either are very fun.

ETA:  I meant to mention - I don't know what your coverage is, but I've heard from OOP ladies that the Crinone is pretty expensive.

Thanks, I was wondering about this.  I have pretty decent insurance and what I can tell from the website, the copay for crinone looks like it will be less than what I am paying for the prometrium Smile
