Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

If you've read 11/22/63, come in.

I'm not very far into it so my questions may be answered in time (heh), but something is really bugging me.

Jake has just moved to Derry circa 9/58 to try to thwart Harry's dad.  Derry is all spooky and "wrong" to him. IIRC, the Losers fought It and ended the 57-58 cycle in August, right?  So shouldn't things be better in Derry by the time Jake arrives?  And Jake's influences notwithstanding (I haven't read far enough to know if he's successful or not), it seems like the Dunning murders would be a pretty big deal--definitely something that could be considered part of It's cycle if not an actual catalyst to begin or end a cycle.  It just seems kind of inconsistant with what we know about It.  Also, the bartender mentioned that Patrick Hockstetter's body was found in the barrens.  But don't the Losers see his skeleton in the sewers in 1985?

I don't know why I'm so annoyed by the inconsistancies.  Will it become clear later?  Or does the Derry stuff just have no bearing on the overall plot of 11/22/63 at all and I should just forget it?

  • According to wiki, "The greater part of the first half takes place in King's fictional town of Derry, Maine, between September and October 1958, a few weeks after the events in It."

You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK.  Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.
