? about ipod touch..

So we are getting the ipod touch and I am so not good with technology...what is the deal with connecting to the internet with it?  I know it has a wifi...how do you use the internet with it or can you when you are out of the house?? Is it worth getting too?  I heard it is the same as the ipad just smaller?  TIA

    I think it depends on what you want to do with it. You can only connect to the internet with it - it does not have 3G. So, you'll only be able to use the internet when you have a wifi hotspot. I have one, but I also have the iPhone, which I love.

    Like, I said it depends on what you "need" it for. You could look into the Kindle Fire - bigger than the itouch and you can play movies on it, etc.

    It's not the same as an iPad, but they're great. Lil has one and she uses it for games, the camera and to FaceTime her daddy when he's out of town. You can do some much more with an iPad, IMO, as a family. There are cooler apps, you can use it as a mini computer, they have a program that works like Word, etc.
